THE FOLLOWING IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE

Here's a list of public access points for access to Westlaw, LexisUni, Bloomberg Law etc. databases. Many people don't even know these resources exist, or that they have FREE access to them. Whether someone is pro se, or wants to learn more about the process of family law, these resources are extremely useful. A lot of access points are in-person only, but most access points allow printing/emailing of documents, for later use (some for a nominal fee).

Legal research tools like Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law are commonly used by attorneys to look up cases, statutes, and court rules. They organize large amounts of legal information in one place, which makes it easier to see how courts have handled similar issues in the past. While these platforms are subscription-based, many public and state law libraries provide on-site access for anyone who wants to use them.

There are also publicly accessible options such as Fastcase, Casetext, and Google Scholar’s legal opinions. These offer varying levels of case-law searching and can be helpful for getting oriented on a legal topic or checking how certain laws have been interpreted.

For people who are researching their own matters or simply want to understand how the legal system works, these databases provide a structured way to read primary legal sources and follow citations. They help make legal information more organized and easier to navigate, without requiring specialized background or training.

These are previously verified public access points for either Westlaw or LexisUni legal databases. This list may not be current by the time you see it, but phone numbers have been provided so that you can call and find out specific information and requirements for use of each public access point close to you. This list is UNFINISHED, but we wanted to put it out so we can save some folks a step or two, until we get it completed. If you have a public access point(s) you'd like to add to the list, please send us a message or an email. As always, we are here to help, but this is NOT a comprehensive list, nor is anything on our site meant to be legal advice. We definitely urge you to do your own research, and to double check any information that you find online.
